בכירי משק המים, מדענים ומומחי המים בישראל, התכנסו לכנס מיוחד לכבודו של פרופ’ אבנר עדין, שאורגן על-ידי האוניברסיטה העברית לרגל פרישתו, שלמעשה אינה אלא שינוי סטטוס לתואר המכובד “פרופ’ אמריטוס”. מאמץ מיוחד הושקע באיתור והזמנת סטודנטים לשעבר, שרבים מהם מאיישים תפקידים בתחומי המים והסביבה בסקטור הציבורי והפרטי “ובמוסדות מחקר בישראל ובחו”ל, וחלקם מובילים בתחומם בזירה הבינלאומית

Middle East states can be categorized into countries which have surplus of natural fresh water, such as Turkey, Iraq and Lebanon, and those who are poor in such water, like Jordan and Israel. In the latter, natural water reservoirs cannot support the growing demand of the country. The article focuses on the way water treatment and supplies in Israel are managed in terms of water quality.
